Doris Annette Treece Morrison, age 82, of Riverview, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024. Her journey began in McNairy County, Tennessee, on January 17th, 1942. On July 16th, 1961, she exchanged vows with Bobby W. Morrison in Tennessee, they shared 46 years of marriage together until his passing in 2007.
Annette's thirst for knowledge led her to Vanderbilt University Peabody College, where she earned a Master's degree in Library Science. Annette began her professional endeavors as an Archival Librarian for the Tennessean Newspaper where she worked for many years. She found solace and community at the Judson Baptist Church in Nashville and later at Simmon's Loop Baptist Church in Riverview, Florida. Her heart sang in service through Women's ministry, crafting beautiful floral table decorations, and finding joy in the melodies of gospel sings. An avid enthusiast of antiques, Annette curated several cherished collections that reflected her discerning tastes and appreciation for the past.
Annette leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her daughter, Carmen Morrison Murphy (Kelly O. Murphy) her granddaughter, Haley Murphy Bennett (Trevor Bennett), and their two beloved children, Archer Bennett, 2-years-old, and Winnie Bennett, 3-months-old. In their memories, Annette's spirit and warmth will forever be cherished and remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Simmon's Loop Baptist Church Women's Ministries.
