Mr. Baxter was able to accomplish many ventures in his life; as he was a founding member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Antioch, he was in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War yet all of these were small compared to the love he had for being a friend and a father. Only next to his love for God, did his friends and family take a close second. Mr. Baxter was proud of the relationships he maintained with several dear friends that stood the test of time. He was very close to his mother and sister as they meant the world to him. He said that his most proud accomplishment was having two intelligent daughters. He was always supportive of both of his daughters and cherished all the times they had together. Mr. Baxter was also proud to be able to walk both his daughters down the aisle, as he referred to his son in laws, as sons he never had. He was also very much looking forward to becoming a Grandfather in May.
For all those who knew him, it was a true statement to say he never met a stranger. He loved nothing more than to make others smile whether it was telling an inappropriate joke or putting himself on parade. His smile would light up the room and the ability to evoke a smile in everyone he came in contact with was remarkable trait. He was an avid car enthusiast, never caught without having his camera in hand and in his healthy days would enjoy a casual cartwheel or two. He loved life and the people he shared it with. He loved with his whole heart and may we all try to strive to do that in our own lives. He will be missed by so many however leaving behind a great legacy behind a great man. Survived by his mother, Eloise Taylor; daughters, Valerie Reynolds (Jacob), Shannon Smith (Trey); sister, Marilyn Morwood (Bill); niece, Michelle Neely (Mark); nephew Michael Morwood (Kara).
