She graduated from McMinnville High School in 1943
She worked as a Cosmetologist until she was 80 years old and loved her job and her clients.
She was actively involved in her church, New Life Baptist where she also taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mr. Tom White Mathis.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Thompson (Jeff), Joyce Buchanan, and Diane Overstreet (Joe).Her grandchildren, Shane Buchanan, Owen Hardcastle, Dusty Buchanan, Chad Wasill, Hillary Quam, and Sydney DeckerHer great-grandchildren, Sadie Hardcastle, Keely Buchanan, Lily Hardcastle, Adeline Hardcastle, Cora Quam, Jackson Decker and Cooper Decker.

A celebration of life will occur Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A committal and interment will occur Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
