Edward Vincent McRedmond, age 78, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021. Edward was born November 9, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents, Cathrine Tague McRedmond and John Joseph McRedmond, Jr., where he spent the rest of his life.
Mr. McRedmond played on the very first little league baseball team in Donelson. He attended Holy Rosary Academy and Father Ryan High School. While attending Father Ryan High School, a friend introduced him to a young lady, Jean Marie, who was attending Saint Bernard High. He was a medic in the National Guard Army. Together, they were attending Holy Rosary Church. Edward and Jean married in June 1965 and the rest is history!
Mr. McRedmond is a huge Vandy fan. Most will remember him as having never met a stranger and being selfless - so much so, he would give someone the "shirt off his back or his last dime". He always planted, grew, and maintained a garden and enjoyed sharing tomatoes and other vegetables he had grown. For the past ten years, Mr. McRedmond would meet a group of retired friends, almost daily, at the Waffle House on Lebanon Pike. They referred to this event as the "Table of Knowledge".
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Marie McRedmond; his daughter Alice Marie McRedmond; his daughter Mary Catherine Thomason; and his daughter Ellen Colleen Ritter; his sister Marie Lawrence, his sister Ann McRedmond, his brother Tom McRedmond and his sister Peggy Boyd (Paul); his granddaughter Melanie Thomason, his grandson Edward Thomason, his granddaughter Caroline Thomason, his granddaughter Jessica Thomas (Zack), his grandson Hunter Ritter, his granddaughter Faith Ritter, his great grandson Eli Thomas and his great grandson Henry Thomas. Sister in Laws Mary Alice Foster, Joyce Foster and Patricia McRedmond.
Edward was preceded in death by his father John Joseph McRedmond, Jr., his mother Cathrine Tague McRedmond; his son-in-law Chad Ritter; and his brother John Joseph McRedmond, III. Brother in Law Edwin P. Foster.
