Elizabeth S. Woodward of Nashville, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter H. Woodward; parents, Allen Payne Smith and Tennie Pearl (Fielder) Smith, as well as her step-mother, Lillian B. (Baggett) Smith; brothers, Allen Payne Smith Jr, Lowell A. Smith; and sister, Martha Varela. Survived by her sisters; Joyce E. (Smith) McDole and Judy D (Smith) Jones. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Woodward was born on October 31, 1923 in Dickson, TN. She began her career with the telephone company (South Central Bell), and remained with them until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing, and attending many events through his affiliation with the Shriner’s. She enjoyed her many travels to the west coast, Hawaii, and various other locations. Mrs. Woodward spent her final years surrounded by many friends at her last home, Windland South. She was loved by many, and will be missed dearly. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00am in Mount Olivet Cemetery. A brief visitation from 9:30am until 10:00am at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
