

Joyce graduated from Cohn High School, Class of 1949. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bobby” Lee Adair on November 18th, 1949. They had two daughters, Dianne and Lauran. Joyce became a widow when Bobby Adair died in August of 1960.
She was employed at the Ford Glass Plant as well as South Central Bell (AT&T). She also received her B.S. in Business Administration from Belmont University.
Joyce married her second husband, James Robert “Bob” White in April of 1964. Joyce and Bob had one son, Richard White. Joyce was widowed a second time when Bob White died in September 2011.
Joyce was a loyal member of the Pioneers. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved fashion and could always be found to be impeccably dressed. She will be remembered as a Loving Wife, Sister, Mother, and Grandmother.
She is predeceased by her parents Horce H. and Lillie Ruth Raines, her loving in-laws Earnest and Nina Adair, her husband Bobby Adair, Sister Ruth Ann Raines Smith, Brother Tommy Raines, and Husband Bob White.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters Dianne Adair Berry and her husband Brian of Nashville, Lauran Adair Mason and her husband Ed of Kingston Springs, grandchildren Chaz Mason and Julia Mason Tanskley-McCoy and her son Richard White and his wife Debbie of Portland, grandchild Allie White.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home, Nashville, Tennessee, Friday September 27th, 2019 from four o'clock until seven o'clock p.m. and Saturday September 28th, 2019 from eleven o'clock until one o'clock p.m. Celebration of Life service will be Saturday September 28th, 2019 at one o'clock p.m. at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home with internment following at the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Reverend Rickey Page will officiate.
