

George Anton, 92, passed away on Monday, January 27, at Harmony at Bellevue. He was born in Greece to the late Nikolaos and Yiannitsa Antonopulos. He is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Constandinos, his twin infant sons Paul and Chris, his wife of 58 years, Vasiliki “Kiki” Anton, and his sister-in-law Catherine Monte.
He is survived by his son Nick (Tiffany) Anton, granddaughters Sophie, Libby, and Vivianne; his nephews that he raised Nick Milionis and son Ian, Louie (Erin) Milionis and children Lia, Adam, and Teddy; his brother-in-law Joe Monte; his nephew Chris (Emanueli) Monte, son Gabriel; and his nieces Denise (Wayne) Hamm, children Madilyn and Jason, Maria (Stelios) Melaxainou, daughter Marialena.
George was a long-time member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church from the 1950s and a lay leader in the church holding multiple offices over many years. He deeply regarded his church. Professionally, he was a civil engineer and worked at the US Corps of Engineers before he co-founded his own company, A&A Engineers, Inc., with his partner, Howard Anderson. George was wholly devoted to his wife and family, and many are the times he sacrificed for their benefit. He enjoyed watching sporting events and spending time with family and friends and at his church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation on Friday, January 31, is from 4pm to 7pm at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home (201 25th Avenue North, Nashville, TN, 37203) with a Trisagion service at 6:45pm.
Funeral service on Saturday, February 1, at 1:30pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4905 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220) followed by a 3pm burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery (660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN, 37204).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
