

Mr. George Stratton Hailey, age 94, of Nashville, TN, passed away on May 14, 2015, after a long illness. He retired from NES after 40 years. He was president of the Optimist Club and gave most of his time to Glen Leven Presbyterian Church (where he had been a member all of his life) as a deacon, elder, treasurer, building fund committee, and enjoyed cooking for numerous events. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mettie Mae (Schutt) Hailey; a sister, Edna West; and a son, Ray Hailey. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Virginia Thompson Hailey; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Susan Hailey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Peggy Hailey and Edward and Ceacy Hailey; grandchildren, Ann Bayides and Elizabeth and Michael Prosser; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Evan Prosser. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 18, 2015, at eleven thirty in the morning with Rev. Mark S. Bryan, PH.D. officiating, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from ten in the morning until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton-Funeral Home.
