George Daniel Talley

Danny was born September 30, 1955, in Nashville, TN to Billy G. and Elizabeth H. Talley. He worked at Nashville Gas/Piedmont Natural Gas for 26 years before retiring as a measurement supervisor and taking up woodworking as a hobby and trade. Danny was an avid outdoorsman, just simply loving being outside and one with nature. He was a softball coach for several years and a volunteer for anyone needing assistance. Danny had a huge heart and simply loved seeing people happy. Danny loved his family more than anything and was so proud of all their accomplishments and definitely his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents Billy G. and Elizabeth H. Talley, uncle George Talley, and cousins Connie Talley and Phillip Talley.

He is survived by his wife and love of his life Patricia of 42 years, daughter Rachel Pugh and husband Brian of Kinta, OK, son Matthew Talley of Hermitage, TN, two grandsons Kade and Kord Pugh of Kinta, OK, brother Steve Talley of KY, aunt Marcelle Talley of Nashville, TN, niece Dr. Cynthia Talley of KY, and numerous friends and extended family.

Visitation Services will be held from 4 -8:00 pm, Monday October 9, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Tuesday October 10, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Jim Laberge will officiate. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Talley, Steven Swarner, Josh McClung, Allen Herald, Ricky Doors, Billy Shockley, Tony Perry, and Greg Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Pugh, Jason Hobbs, Drew Hobbs, Robert E. Lee, and H.T. Wilson.
