SHARP, Helen Lepley - Age 84. 11/30/27 - 12/10/11 in Tampa, Florida. Born in Nashville to Lessie & Julian Lepley, her father died when she was just three. During Helen's teens, her mother married Frank Hooper of Franklin who became a beloved father to her, and grandfather to her and her sibling's many children. She had 5 siblings: Frank, Julian, Charles, Wallace Lepley and Dorothy Cothron, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Cohn High School in 1945. She married Charles A. Sharp of Nashville in 1949 and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. They lived in Florida for 4 decades, but regularly visited Tennessee and always planned to return. In 1980, they retired first to Cumberland Furnace, then Dickson for over 20 years. Charles passed away in 2001, age 77. Helen was an extraordinarily loving and generous woman of great humor and spirit, even during her 10-year struggle with Alzheimer's. To her last moments, she was deeply loving and expressive of her appreciation for love. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Diana Sharp of Tampa & grandchildren, Charles and Marianna; and by her daughter, Debbie Sharp of Floral City, Florida and grandson, Charles Maupin; as well as many nieces and nephews, primarily around Nashville. Visitation is Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from noon to 2:30 with services immediately following at Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift in Helen's name to either the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Nashville Union Rescue Mission, both of which enjoyed her support. Arrangements by: Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. (615)-383-4754. www.woodlawn-roesch-pattonfh.com
