Goldie Frances was born on August 22, 1930 in DeKalb County Tennessee. Family members called her "Goldie" (named after an aunt) and other friends and family called her "Frances". Goldie Frances was a quiet woman with a quick wit and a mischievous sparkle and she loved visiting and being with family and friends. She was a devoted and wonderful homemaker and mother to her family. She has two children - Teresa (Ken) Stephens and Michael (Yvette) Pennington. She has 5 grandchildren - Rachel Pennington, Lily Pennington, Matthew Stephens, Mark (Kristie) Stephens and Derek Stephens. She has two great grandchildren, Colin Pennington and Luke Stephens. Goldie Frances is predeceased by her parents, Bryan and Myrtle Smith, and two brothers, Bobby Smith and Billy Smith. She loved to go on "senior citizen" trips and to have other outings and get togethers with her friends, whom she cherished. She liked gospel music and loved to go to concerts and shows. She was a caregiver to small children and to this day many of these children, who are now adults, with children of their own, still stay in touch with her. She had a special impact on their lives. She was the "best" of the best and she is so loved and will be deeply missed.
