Born on July 27, 1950, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Greg lived a life marked by quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to family, faith, and service. He was known for his larger-than-life personality and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
Greg retired after 13 years with The Upper Room in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as the International Director of Emmaus Ministries, touching lives around the world through the program that he loved as he helped shepherd communities on their Walks with Christ. Earlier in his career, he was a long-time Facilities Administrator for the Lancaster Airport Authority, where he took pride in keeping the airport in excellent condition.
Outside of his professional life, Greg enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and numerous golf tournaments and winemaking with friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joyce Engroff, and his sister, Cindy Brubaker.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Carol Engroff; his children, Brett Engroff (Yvonne), Amanda Harella (Scott), Alex Wirth, and Austin Wirth (Lauren); four cherished granddaughters; and his sister, Pam Dochter (Steve). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
Greg’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the faith he lived, and the enduring bonds he created throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4, 2026, in Lancaster, PA at the American Legion from 1-4 pm. Details for Nashville, TN will be announced by the family when they are available. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
