

Harold Dean Baker, Sr. passed away on April 2, 2016, at age 74 after a sudden decline in his health. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary “Cootie” Baker, his sister, Adah Hollon, and his grandson, Philip Baker. Surviving are his brother, Michael Baker; children: Dean Baker (Cindy), Cathy Owens (Scott) and Steve Baker (Tani); and grandchildren: Adam Baker (Elizabeth), Jessica Atchley, Zach Park (Sarah) and Talor Clark (Cody). Harold was born on June 1, 1941, in Franklin, Ohio. Graduated from Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Ohio in 1959 and attended the University of Cincinnati. Harold worked for Armco Steel before he and his brother, Mike, took over the family construction business, Baker Builders—a family construction business founded by their grandfather, Andrew Baker, known as A. J. Baker and Sons, and later owned by his sons, Clyde, Charles and Vernon and known as Baker Brothers. Harold also served as a Franklin Township Trustee and as a deacon in Franklin Christian Church in Franklin, Ohio, prior to moving his family to Franklin, Tennessee in 1981. In Tennessee, Harold had leadership roles at Sharondale Construction Co., McDevitt & Street and T. W. Frierson Contractor. He was involved with the Associated Builders and Contractors, as well as, several industrial/economic development efforts in Tennessee. Harold was also a member of First Christian Church in Nashville, TN. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Two O’ Clock in the afternoon at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville TN 37204. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 9, 2016, from Two O’clock until four O’clock in the afternoon and Sunday, April 10th, from Twelve Noon until Two O’clock in the afternoon also at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. Another memorial service will also be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the First Church of God at 704 South River Street, Franklin, Ohio 45005 at Twelve Noon with visitation prior to the service beginning at Ten O’clock in the morning.
