

Harold Edward Jackson, Jr. (Buddy) was born September 21, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama. The son of the late Kathleen Pope Jackson and Harold E. Jackson, Sr., he attended Ramsey High School in Birmingham and received a BS Degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 as a first Lieutenant. After his army career during the Korean War, he graduated from Vanderbilt Engineering School where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honorary Society, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was employed by The H.G. HILL Company from 1955 to 1968, First American National Bank from 1968 to 1981, where he served as head of the National Division. He attended Rutgers College for advanced training and banking. From 1986 to 2005, he was owner and chairman of Lyons Diecasting Company in Buckner, Missouri.
Buddy served on the Board of Continental Conveyer Equipment Company, as well as the Board of Ensworth School. Buddy was an avid golfer, loved to travel with his family, a member of Belle Meade Country Club, Hillwood Country Club, and a communicant of St. Georges Church. Aside from his family, Buddy had four loves in life: Rock Island, Stuart Florida, Gordon’s Gin, and Fox News.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Frances Hill Ambrose and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Caldwell Jackson, and by his three children and spouses; Frances Jackson Ambrose (Albert), Harold E. Jackson III (Annie), and Kathleen Jackson Estes (Alec), grandchildren: Kathleen Ambrose Kestermann (Andy), Anna Clark Ambrose, Benjamin Estes Ambrose, Harold E. Jackson IV, Margaret Elizabeth Jackson, Caroline Scofield Jackson, Allister Caldwell Estes, John McDougall Estes, and Thomas William Estes II. As well as, his sister Bette Sue Parrish McNeilly and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at St. Georges Episcopal Church Friday, June 3rd at 3 pm, located at 4715 Harding Pike 37205. A celebration of Buddy’s life will immediately follow the service from 4 to 6 at The Belle Meade Country Club. In lieu of flowers, a contribution made to St. George’s Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
