Helen Jean Parks Batson, age 82, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 7, 1937 to the late Jesse Holman and Mary Louise Wells Parks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard Blount Batson and daughter, Debra Jean Batson. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Vicki Clara Batson and son, Richard B Batson Jr. (Analiza); eight grandchildren, Candice, Paige, Dylan, Sydney, Zoey, Joseph, Phillip, Clara Jean and two Great grandchildren, Hayden and Tristan.
Helen was a receptionist for over 50 years for Dr. Aita and Dr. Larry Grissom. She never met a stranger and spread joy and laughter to everyone she met. Helen was a beloved wife, mother and Grandmother. She was an active member of Bell Road Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Rev.Wayne Etheridge Officiating. Interment will be private in Woodlawn Memorial Park. There will be a Gathering of Friends and family from eleven o’clock in the morning until time of services at two-thirty in the afternoon at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
