

Mr. Stevens was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was a Sigma Chi and Georgia Tech where he was a member of V-12 Navy.
He was a professional engineer and was the owner of Laboratory Associates, Specialized Assays and James E. Stevens and Associates.
Jimmie was a competitive shooter and coached the MBA rifle team for 25 yrs. Also he was a former board member of the NRA.
He was heavily involved in scouting as an Eagle Scout. He won the Long Rifle Award and the Silver Beaver and earned the first Distinguished Eagle in Middle Tennessee. He was past President of the Middle Tennessee Council and a longtime member of Belle Meade Country Club.
Survived by wife of 63 yrs. Elizabeth “Blondy” Stevens, daughter Susan (Tom) Logan, son Ed (Patty) Stevens, grandchildren John Logan, Beth (Jason) Todd, Jennie (John) Witherspoon, Katie (Brandon) Waymire, Jim (Nikki) Stevens, Brad Stevens and Hayley Stevens, 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 31, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Stanford Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Sandra Randleman officiating. Visitation will follow in the Cheek House. A private graveside service will be held earlier in the day.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts, 3414 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215 or your favorite charity.
