Born in Nashville, TN, son of the late Mary R. Edmondson and stepfather Edward (Ed) Edmondson. Also preceding him in death is his sister Mary Jane Stilts.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria F. Yates; son, James Eugene Yates, Jr. (Gene); grandchildren, James Ethan Yates, L Cpl. Phillip Anthony Yates (USMC), and EmmaLee Ann Yates; brothers, John (Buster) W. Yates and his wife Roseanne, William (Skipper) D. Yates and his wife Barbara; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Arvil & Pat Gentry.
Visitation will be held at two o’ clock in the afternoon until eight on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ten o’ clock in the morning on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
