Jimmy Deece Morrison passed away peacefully at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 28, 2025. Born on October 25, 1955 in Nashville, Tennessee to his parents, James and Melba Morrison, he is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Jennifer Morrison; beloved daughters, Lark and Liliana; sisters, Donna Wheeler and Carol Whitaker; brother, Tim Morrison (Janice); and many nieces and nephews.
Jim carried his Southern roots with him wherever he went- in his kindness, his work ethic, and the steadfast loyalty he offered to family, friends, and colleagues alike. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, as a specialist for Minutemen III nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles. His commitment to excellence extended far beyond his years in the service and could be seen in every aspect of his life. Later, he graduated from Tennessee State University with a degree in Accounting.
A devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, Jim taught Sunday School, confirmation class, and assisted the youth as a dedicated prayer partner. Through the church, he also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He held numerous volunteer roles at both Oak Hill and Harpeth Hall schools, as well as served on the board of the Tennessee Golf Foundation. His faith and generosity was not only a cornerstone of his life but a source of comfort and strength for those who knew him.
Many happy years were spent with family and friends at their lake house. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and a passionate competitor. Whether on the tennis court, fishing, or on the golf course, he earned the respect and admiration of everyone he encountered. His success was rooted not only in his talent, but also in his discipline and calm determination. Jim was equally known for the mentorship he offered to others and led by example with patience, humility, and integrity that extended far beyond the games themselves.
In his professional life, Jim brought that same thoughtful leadership to his role as CEO of Public Risk Services and Healthtrac. He led with compassion, strength, and sincerity. His sharp mind, quick wit, and warm humor endeared him to those around him, and under his guidance, others flourished.
Jim’s marriage to Jennifer was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and tenderness. As a father, he offered his daughters immeasurable love and unwavering support, giving them not only a beautiful life but a foundation of faith, stability, and strength that will continue to guide them every day.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:00-11:30 a.m in the Cheek House. The service will be officiated by Dr. Ryan Moore, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church.
In remembrance of Jim, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
