

RAMSEY, John Perry “J.P.”, Jr., age 89, went home to be with his Lord on April 8, 2013. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Tracy Webb Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife of seventy two years, Elizabeth Ramsey; son, Presley Ramsey and daughter, Perri-lynn (David) White; grandchildren, Chad Webb (Melisa) Ramsey, Julianne Elizabeth Ramsey, Brett Presley Ramsey and Dailyn Rae White; two great grandsons, Carson and Meyer Ramsey; and a sister, Virginia Hardison. J.P. was born in Lewisburg, Tenn. He served in WWII and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. He was employed at McCord Crane Service, owner of Capital Crane Service and employed at Sentry Steel Service. Mr. Ramsey collected antique lamps and collector pocket knives. He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Visitation will be held from one until five o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 11th of April, 2013 at Granny White Church of Christ located at 3805 Granny White Pike in Nashville, TN. A funeral service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 12th of April, at Granny White Church of Christ with visitation held one hour prior to the service, officiated by Dale Jenkins, Minister of Spring Meadows Church of Christ. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Don Jarrell, Mac Stillwell, Leslie Lasater, Richard Lasater, Scott Ellis and Keith Hopper. The Elders and Deacons of Granny White Church of Christ, Scott Boatright and Gene McKennon will serve as honorary pallbearers.
