John Winford Stevens III, 76, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026. Born in Nashville, TN on February 25, 1950, to Frank W. Stevens and Theo C. Stevens; John earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
John was a sales agent in Maritime Insurance; specializing in freight and cargo ships. In his personal life, John enjoyed hunting and was passionate about UT Football. A reserved yet personable man, he was known for a good sense of humor and will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by his two children: Jessica Janssen and Frank C. Stevens; his grandchildren: Evelyn and Luke Janssen, and Ariah and Jordan Stevens: his brother: Frank Stevens, Jr.; and his nieces: Laura Upchurch and Katherine Morris.
A committal service will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, on March 30, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
