John W. “Jack” Thompson, Jr., age 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 09, 2011. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Eva Gwyn Thompson, Sr. and a son, David Thompson. He is survived by wife, Alyne Toney Thompson; daughter, Suzanne Silvermoon; son, John W. (Sharon) Thompson, III; sister, Carolyn Speck; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Lou (Jerry) Sullivan; four step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:00am Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army Air Corps. He was a heavy construction carpenter, who helped construct the Hoover Dam in Nevada. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
