

He was born on November 16, 1930 in Nashville, TN to Karl Douglas Cox, Sr. and Bessie Louise Pomeroy.
Karl served with the U.S. Army as a Records Specialist at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He married his wife, Marie Elizabeth Summers in July 1954 in Nashville.
In 1949 Karl began a long career in product sales at Graybar Electric Company, retiring after 41 years in 1990. He was an avid fisherman, passionate gardener and an accomplished cook. He was a self-taught photographer, volunteering his time and talent to capturing the life events of the special-needs children and their families of Nashville’s First Steps, Inc., and nominated for the Middle Tennessee Mary Catherine Strobel Award for the 1995 Volunteer of the Year.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Pomeroy (Anne). He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marie Summers Cox; daughters Karla (Eugene) Cafarelli, Teresa (Neal) Conklin, and Shelly (Danny) Harris; son Karl (Lisa) Cox; grandchildren William Scott and Alex (Laura) Conklin; great-grandchild Kenzlee Conklin; and nephews Gary Pomeroy and Randy Pomeroy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven thirty on Saturday January 03, 2015 with Visitation beginning at ten o’clock at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
Following the Service, a reception will be held with the family from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at The Meadows, 8044 Coley Davis Road, Bellevue, TN (615) 646-4466.
