Kay was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 2, 1940. She was the oldest of three children born to Kathleen and Ed Copeland. While attending the University of Georgia, she met Clayton Price, whom she later married in 1963. Kay loved teaching elementary school children throughout her career of more than twenty years. She was a faithful leader in womens' ministry and the special needs ministry at her church, Christ Presbyterian Church. Kay and Clayton welcomed their two children, Kathy and Clay, prior to moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. They eventually lived in Jackson, Mississippi and Long Grove, Illinois before settling in the Nashville area in 1999.
Kay's passion in life was being a Nana. Meg, Price, Hall, Katie and Jordan were her favorite people. You could always find her cheering them (and their friends) on at a sporting event or a musical theater performance. She was also passionate about her love for the Lord. That love for Him resulted in a kindness and respect for people, whether a close friend or a stranger.
Kay is survived by her husband Clayton, sister Gwynne (Carl), sister-in-law Patricia, daughter Kathy (Ed), son Clay, grandchildren Meg, Price, Hall, Katie, Jordan and "bonus"daughter Kellie (Rick). She is preceded in death by her parents Kathleen and Ed, brother Jim and daughter-in-law Ashley. Visitation will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 2nd from 4:00-6:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location, on February 3rd at 1:00pm.
