

Kenneth Stephens, age 85, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1939, in St. Petersburg, Florida (Pinellas County), to the late Ida Belle Weston and Joseph Gus Stephens. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida, where he also showcased his athletic talents as a standout baseball pitcher. His career led him to work for various federal agencies, ultimately retiring from the General Services Administration in Atlanta, GA.
Kenneth was a man of many gifts, all of which he approached with humility. He had a beautiful voice and a passion for music, often playing his guitar and harmonizing with others. Whether he was performing for an audience or simply singing for his own enjoyment, his love for music was a cherished part of his life. In addition to his musical abilities, Kenneth was a skilled baseball pitcher, known for his athleticism and dedication.
Kenneth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved reading, working on puzzles, tending to his yard, and spending time at the beach. He was also an active member of the Tusculum Church of Christ, where he participated in Life Groups and enjoyed church outings with his community.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Teresa Stephens; sons, Matthew Stephens, Mark Stephens (Kristie), and Derek Stephens; grandson, Luke Stephens; sister, Joyce Curd (Tipton); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Belle and Joseph Gus Stephens; his brother, Joseph Gus Stephens, Jr.; and his sister, Margie Alderman.
A gathering of family and friends for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a celebration of life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Kenneth's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this time of loss. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
