

FOREHAND, Leona Bates – Age 89 of Nashville, passed away on May 10, 2014. Preceded in death by loving husband of 67 years, Harold Forehand; Father, Arch Hugh Bates; and Mother Lettie Palace Bates; and daughter, Teresa Crocker. Survived by son, Michael (Janyce) Forehand: daughter, Celia (Joe) Baldwin: grandchildren, Dana (Donnie) Beene, Drew (Amanda) Forehand, and Doug (Chrissy) Crocker: and 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy Griffin and Jean Davis. She proudly supported her husband during deployments in World War II and the Korean War. She was a loving and devoted Mother and wife. She retired from The Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, TN. She loved and served the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all of her life. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM and again on Tuesday morning at 10 AM prior to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 AM in Woodlawn’s Chapel. Entombment to follow in Woodlawn’s North Cross Mausoleum. Pallbearers to include: Wayne Griffin, Mark Griffin, Norman Griffin, Stan Eatherly, Steve Eatherly, Doug Crocker, Drew Forehand, Donnie Beene, Jacob Beene, and Charles Forehand. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211.
