They lived on Robin Road for 12 years where the children went to Glendale Elementary and Overton High School. Barbara went on to graduate from Belmont University.
Her son Bob retired from the Air Force with 24 years of service and moved to Baltimore, Md. He had a very successful Real Estate business until his death in November 2015.
Her husband Robert died at the age of 69 in 1991. He was very successful in the hardware business for over 27 years and his favorite sport was golf. That is where you could find him on the weekends.
Mother had many interests in her life. In her early years her children and grandchildren were her fun. Later she was very active in her church, Forest Hills Methodist church (formerly Waverly Place Methodist). She loved church bazaars and working at the State Fair for the church. Her yard was her pride and joy and she relied on her yard man Mr. Lonnie Robinson. He did whatever she wanted. She never missed a Friday hair appointment as that was something she did for over 40 years. The one thing she commented on the most is her Poker group. She loved poker and she had that poker face.
In her later years she moved to The Lodge at Natchez Trace and lived there for over 3 years until her death. She made wonderful friends and had wonderful times there. She especially loved Mr. David Fritts who was the Chef there. He was a wonderful person to her and is a dear friend. She made numerous friends and there are too many to mention individually but they will always be loved.
She was an Amazing Lady who will be missed.
