Linda Kay Parton

Linda Kay Parton of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on March 16, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee where she grew up. She attended St. Cecilia High School. She worked as an office manager for UTC Carrier for 38 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alvin Kenneth Butner, Sr., and mother, Dorothy Louise Butner.

She is survived by her daughter, April K Spelta (Tony), grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Kelley (Adam) and Anthony Kenneth Spelta (Skye). Great grandchildren, Aiden Lee Kelley, Atlas Evander Spelta and Lochlan River Spelta. Brothers, Alvin Kenneth Butner Jr (Patsy) and Carl Clifton Butner. Linda was a wonderful second mother and loved them like her own and was loved by them, Julie Jones (Clint), Seth Alexander (Heather) and Angie Holliman, Grandchildren Ashleigh Rawlins (Matt), Savannah Jones, Hazel Alexander, Joshua Mosby (Beth), Marisa Mosby and Chelsea VanDyke. Great grandchild Ava Rawlins. Husband Mack Alexander.

Mom loved going to the casinos and playing her slots, and table games. She loved watching the horse races. Especially the Kentucky Derby. She enjoyed going to the beach and eating any and all seafood. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life. She loved having them sit on her lap and cuddle with them and watching their shows with them. She could sit and watch birds all day long. She always made sure they had plenty of food to eat so they wouldn’t go hungry. Her greatest joy was just having her family around, playing board games with them and hearing about what was going on in their life.

The family would like to thank Tennessee Oncology Mt Juliet and the nurses and Doctors at Summit Hospital for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Mount Olivet Funeral Home on Monday June 2, 2025, at 1pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 10am. A Graveside service to follow the funeral service.
