

She graduated from Cohn High School in 1962 and went on to attend Belmont's College of Nursing Program earning her Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
In 1965, then Linda Inman, married her High School Sweetheart, Larry K. Whitus, who was a graduate of Cohn High School's Class of 1961.
After becoming a RN, Linda served as a Nurse at Baptist Hospital in Pediatrics where she worked for many years. She later served as both the Nurse and Office Assistant for Ophthalmologist Dr. John B. Bond, who she adored, working for several years until leaving the practice in 1975 to focus on her true love, Motherhood, being a stay at home mom for her newborn son, Jason Whitus, in 1975. Once her son entered Kindergarten she returned to work part-time but ultimately retired from Nursing a few years later to again focus on her family.
She was a member of the charitable foundation, Santa's Helpers, that provided toys for underprivileged children in Middle Tennessee.
Linda had a passion for Music, both listening and playing. She learned to play the Piano as a child and performed in many recitals. Her love for music was something she shared with her Husband Larry, who took her dancing throughout High School, even appearing on the local Nashville show; "The Five-O'clock Hop" which aired on WSMV.
Linda also enjoyed Reading, watching Movies, and most of all spending time with her Husband and Son. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a dedicated Mother who ensured her Son was raised with love, empathy and compassion.
She was predeceased by her parents, Billy and Annie Estelle Inman, as well as her husband of 55 years, Larry K. Whitus. She is survived by her Son Jason Whitus, Sister Debbie Bradley, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on February 26, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
The Committal and Interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, also at 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the same day.
