It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mario Ybiernas Abellanosa who died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Mario was a resident of Mt. Juliet, TN. He was 49 years old at his passing.
Mario was born in 1970 to Juanito and Roberta Abellanosa in Phillips Bukidnon, Philippines, where he lived all of his young life and attended his early education at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and Holy Cross High School. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science at Ateneo de Cagayan Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. In June 1996 he married his childhood sweetheart Tina Obrero. Shortly thereafter, Mario and Tina moved to the United States where Mario joined the US Army becoming a member of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Mario was deployed to Kosovo as part of the “Operation Joint Guardian”, a peacekeeping effort by NATO and US Military forces. After 4 years of honorable service, Mario left the Army and the family moved to Mt. Juliet, TN. Mario began his career as a Pest Control Specialist and worked with pride at the gardens of Gaylord Opryland Hotel Resorts in Nashville, Tennessee. Mario and Tina are proud parents of 2 wonderful children: Lorenzo (19) and Isabella (12).
Mario lived a rich and fulfilling life while he was with us, one filled with many loves and interests - a deep love for nature, love for his adopted home the United States, an interest in plants, an interest in the latest tool or gadget particularly from Bass Pro Shop - to name a few. He was also a natural athlete with an uncanny knack for quickly picking up almost any sport he tried and then quickly becoming the best at it. But by far, Mario's greatest love and the foundation of his being was the love of his wife, Tina, and his two children, Lorenzo and Isabella.
Mario is survived by his wife, Tina, son, Lorenzo, and daughter, Isabella, his 8 siblings: 7 brothers – Marlon (Tonette), Juanito (Jenny), Rachito (Maite), Nielo (Lisa), Glenn (Cynthia), Rodrigo (Cherry), Paul (Maribel) and one sister - Judith (Robert), his parents-in-laws Faustino and Lydia Obrero, sisters-in laws: Thessa (Frank) Churillo, Tricia and brother-in-law Angelo (Bling). Mario will also be forever remembered by his nephews, nieces and extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother Roberta and father Juanito.
A funeral service in memory of Mario will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at eleven o'clock, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 14544 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory, TN with Father Pat Kibby officiating.
