Mary Ann was born on October 12, 1935, in Franklin, Tennessee. She later moved to Texas, where she graduated from Aldine High School in Houston. Throughout her life, Mary Ann was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and devotion to her family.
She was married to James T. “Jim” Chapman on December 23, 1960, and they shared 36 loving years together until his passing. She later married Edgar Blankenship on December 27, 2000, and they were married for 19 years until his passing.
Mary Ann worked alongside her husband as a co-owner of Chapman’s LaGuardo Market, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many in the community. She also worked as a cashier at Cracker Barrel, a role she truly enjoyed for the people she met and served.
In her free time, Mary Ann found joy in gardening, sewing, and embroidery. She took great pride in creating beautiful things with her hands and nurturing both plants and people with care and patience.
