Mary was preceded in death by her husband Richard. She is survived by her sons Kevin E. Kirk and Michael E. Kirk and his spouse Kim L. Kirk. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Frances Underwood, Louis “Sonny” Larson, Robert Larson and Betty Jean Holloway, and by her granddaughter Lindsey Kirk.
Mary is survived by nieces and nephews Robert Underwood, Robert “Butch” Larson, Ricky Larson, Kenny Larson, Ann Miller, Sharon Lowery, Marc Larson and Jacque Zimmermann. She is predeceased by nephew Charles “Chuck” Underwood.
Prior to being 95, she was active at the local golf course – Two Rivers Golf Course (one of the first members) – and at the former Pla Mor Lanes, the former Donelson Bowl, and Donelson Plaza Strike and Spare. Mary held several records at each of these places – some may still be unbroken. Mary and Richard were once active members at the Donelson Fifty Forward Center.
Mary and Richard were founding members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 1954. They had unspoken “reserved seats” (right side of center section, just in front of 2nd support column on the right).
Having built the third house in the Donelson Hills Subdivision, they knew many of their neighbors and were known by many more.
Each of these places has closed a chapter in its history today.
