Born on April 30, 1959, in Nashville, Cathy remained a proud lifelong resident of the city she loved. She graduated from Father Ryan High School and went on to build a dedicated career with Kroger, where she worked for 35 years in a variety of roles. Her strong work ethic and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Cathy had a deep passion for gardening and found joy and peace in tending to her flowers and plants. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit extended beyond the garden and into the lives of her family and friends.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Dale Atnip; her cherished granddaughter, Ava Atnip; her mother, Ann Smith; and her brothers, Grafton Smith (Sharon), Pat Smith, and Rick Smith (Astrid). Cathy will be remembered for her warm smile, unwavering devotion to her family, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, Tennessee 37204. Funeral Mass will be held the following day, April 25, 2025 beginning at 2:00pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1219 2nd Ave S, Nashville, TN 37210. Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery, 1001 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210.
