Mattie was born on November, 20, 1932 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of Arthur and Leona Sawyers Rector. Her parents precede her in death along with one sister, Patsy Capuano; and two brothers, Jim and Bubba Rector.
Surviving are her children, Carl (wife, Linda) Edison and Patty Rose; grandchildren, Cheryl (Mike) Hunt, Alicia (husband, Josh) Matthews, and Carl “Chip” (wife, Angela) Edison, IV; and six great-grandchildren.
Mattie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching John Wayne and Old Westerns, and she was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Celebrant Greg Comp officiating.
