Age 71, formerly of Morristown passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Nashville, TN. Michael was an avid Duck Hunter and enjoyed shooting skeet and sporting clays competitively. As a successful business owner, he worked most of his career as an agricultural manufacturer’s representative. He served on the boards of the Nashville Gun Club as well as Heartland Senior Living Communities. He was a member of the Old Hickory Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his precious son, Michael Scott Purkey; his parents, Mary Nelle and Powell Purkey. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Judy Scott Purkey; sister, Carole Ann Purkey of Nashville and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Don Loftis officiating.
