

Mildred was born on October 18, 1938, in Pigeon Roost, located in Smith County, TN, to Joe and Clara (White) Haynes. She spent nearly all of her life in Nashville, a place she dearly loved.
She graduated from Cohn High School, Class of 1957, and went on to attend nursing school in Nashville. Mildred began her nursing career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she worked in the premature nursery before it became known as the NICU. Her compassionate heart and steady hands brought comfort to countless families during those early years. Later, she became a self-employed business owner, demonstrating the same determination and independence that defined her life.
Mildred married Lynn Berry on December 12, 1965, in Madison, TN. She later married Boyd Davis on October 3, 1968, also in Madison. Boyd preceded her in death, along with her parents, Joe and Clara Haynes, and her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Linda Haynes.
Known for being spunky, spirited, fierce, and petite, Mildred lived life with remarkable strength and personality. She loved quilting, gardening, traveling, and dancing. Above all, she loved Jesus and treasured her family beyond measure.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mildred moved to Texas to be near her daughter, cherishing the extra time spent with family in her final years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tom Winnenberg; grandchildren Emily Winnenberg, James Winnenberg, and Rachel Emery and her husband Cooper; great-granddaughter Maggie Emery; Cindy Broom (stepdaughter) and husband Jerry;
Teresa Stinson (stepdaughter) and husband Mike; Jason Davis (stepson) and niece Allison McIntosh and her husband Rich.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers of The Orchard at Appletree Court Assisted Living and Holding Hands Hospice for their compassionate dedication and care.
Mildred’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
