Mildred B. Griffin

Mrs. Griffin was born on January 16, 1915 in Nashville, TN, daughter of the late Walter and Virginia Bracey. She spent her entire life loving and serving her church, her family and her friends. She taught school in Nashville in her early years before becoming a mother and a homemaker for over seventy years. Mrs. Griffin was a lifelong member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church in Nashville, where she served in countless volunteer positions. She will be remembered for her lovely smile, her kindness to others and her undaunting love for her Heavenly Father.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alpheus Marston Griffin, Jr., daughter, Lynne Evelyn Griffin.

Survivors include her son, Seth Hooker Griffin (Katherine) of Nashville; two granddaughters, Lynne Klosik (Joseph) and Du Bose Boylan (Shane), both living in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Pastor John Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from one'clock in the afternoon until service time on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Milton Bracey, Jr., Jim Mitchell, Denton, Justin, Todd and Griffin Mayo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
