Patsy was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 31, 1943, to Willie C. Williams and Dorothy Armes Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sons, Randall Austin Jr. and Michael Scott, and by her siblings Billy, Robert, Gayle, and Donnie.
She was married to the love of her life, Randall McGill, for 64 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and steadfast devotion. Known lovingly as “Mam” to all who knew her, Patsy’s greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Randall McGill; her children, Cindi (Scott) Ingram, Jennifer Pitts, and Steve (Vonda) McGill; her cherished grandchildren, Randi Frost, Chad (Kerri) Robinson, Michael Pitts, Abbey (Doug) Luther, Dakota Moon, Allie (Hunter) Spence, Kelcie Ingram, and Jack McGill; and her ten great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Reita Ferrell, her especially devoted sister-in-law Janice Steimle, and Linda Williams, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Patsy graduated from Antioch High School, Class of 1961. She was a long-time member of Smith Springs Church of Christ, where her faith was nurtured and sustained her throughout her life. From 1973 to 1994, she worked at Ezell Harding Christian School in various capacities, forming lasting friendships and leaving a meaningful impact on the school community.
Mam loved her family, her church, and her friends deeply. She treasured her time with special groups such as the Cumberland Mountain Bunch, the Ezell Harding Ladies, and the Smith Springs Sewing Class. She was known for her generosity of time, money, and possessions, her warm hospitality, and her remarkable sewing and cooking abilities.
A survivor and a fighter, Patsy overcame many obstacles with quiet strength and unwavering faith. That faith carried her through every challenge, and her family finds comfort in knowing she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus as she left this world, surrounded by the husband and children who will miss her dearly.
