

He is survived by his wife Lucy Honey Haynes; son, Carl (Martha) Haynes; grandson, Carter Patrick Haynes; brother, Steve (Candy) Haynes; stepsister, Diane Gasaway, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by mother Concetta DiBetta Haynes Whitley; father, Earl Vernon Haynes, and stepfather Easy Whitley.
Randy attended Emory University at Oxford and graduated from UT at Martin and the Nashville School of Law.
Randy was born in Memphis and lived most of his early years in Atlanta where he was a Youth Sunday School Teacher at Oak Grove Methodist Church. He moved to Dyersburg, TN and became a real estate broker. In Dyersburg, he developed a love of flying and earned a private pilot’s license. In 1981, he moved to Nashville to attend law school. After working for the State of Tennessee, he entered private law practice.
He enjoyed classical music, history, the Atlanta Braves and was passionate about helping others. He was a fabulous cook. Nothing was more dear to Randy than his family and spending time with them. Special gratitude goes to Randy’s cousins, other family, and his friends who stayed close in touch with Randy during his long illness and assured him he was loved and remembered.
Visitation with the family will be March 18, 2016 from 4-6 PM in the Iris Room at Belmont United Methodist Church and on Saturday from 10-11 AM with Funeral Service to follow in the chapel at 11AM.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Belmont United Methodist Church for mission and outreach.
