Randall Wood Shaffer of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away on June 24, 2015. Mr. Shaffer is preceded in passing by his parents, James Arol and Anna Lee Wood Shaffer. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruby May Clark Shaffer; children Kathy Sue Shaffer Padgitt (Kenneth) of Smyrna, TN, Jane Ann Shaffer McCrum (John) of Goodlettsville, TN, and Gary Randall Shaffer (Debbie) of Nolensville, TN; and grandchildren, Melissa Jane Padgitt, Daniel Lynn Hollingsworth (Jessica), Courtney Erin Shaffer Coats (Jared), and Chelsey Layne Shaffer. He was a graduate of Reidland High School, Draughons Business College, Paducah Junior College, Kentucky School of Banking, and Louisiana State University School of Banking. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Shaffer had a lifelong career in banking, including employment with Peoples First National Bank, Citizens Bank & Trust Company, and a position as Vice President and Treasurer of Bank & CBT Corporation. He served as an elder at Broadway Church of Christ of Paducah, KY and at Tusculum Church of Christ of Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2015 from four to six o’clock in the evening. Funeral service will be held at Tusculum Church of Christ in Nashville, TN on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at one o’clock in the afternoon with visitation an hour prior.
