

Miss Elrod is preceded in death by her parents, True and Laura Martin Elrod LaFever; brothers, William T. Elrod, Eugene (Bonnie) Elrod, Artis (Martha) Elrod; sisters, Louise (Fred) Gilliam, Ann L. Elrod; sister-in-law, Charlotte Elrod; and best friend, Margaret Saylors.
She is survived by brother, George Thurman Elrod; nephews, Fred (Linda) Gilliam, Bill (Cathy) Gilliam, Steven (Ruth) Elrod, and Art Elrod; nieces, Sue (Roger) Mink, Janice (John) Cappell, Beverly (Dan) Pittman, Lorie (Patrick) Powell, Cindy (Sam) Langford, Lisa (Vernon) Bennett and Kathy (Dennis) Arnold; great nephews and nieces of Nashville, TN, Michael (Nichele, Jack & Lucy) Arnold, Joseph Arnold, Matthew Bennett, Abby Arnold & Catie Bennett and a host of other very loved, great and great, great nephew and nieces.
Miss Elrod graduated from Draughn's Business College and was very proud of her career, retiring as Credit Manager of Nashville Surgical Supply after 43 years.
"Aunt Ray" is best summed up in one word as absolute selflessness. Each of her precious nieces and nephews meant the world to her as well as her beloved brother, Thurman.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Elrod Cemetery 6377 Burgess Falls Rd, Sparta, TN 38583.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
