

Richard spent most of his life in Nashville. He graduated from Eash Nashville High School in 1966, where he played football and ran track. He was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served at Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana as a drill instructor. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He later moved to Roswell, New Mexico for a few years then back to Nashville. There he worked for J C Penny in display until they transferred him to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to help open a new store. He later worked for UPS, then returned to Nashville and worked for Metro Nashville. He spent many years in the flooring industry and was exceptionally skilled in installation and repairs.
Richard enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. He had a great sense of humor and loved good food and talking. He liked to watch almost any sport, but especially enjoyed women's teams. He was a member of Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Juliet.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, William Cooper Delk, Jr. and Dorothy Horan Delk and his daughter Elizabeth Nix.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Agee Delk, his son, Richard Keith (Gwen) Delk, Jr. and his daughters, Celeste (Jason) Cassidy and Emily (Tony) Watson; his granddaughters Sarah Watson and Logan Sibley; his grandsons Cade Cassidy, Caden Nix and Ben Watson; his great-grandchildren, Marilyn Sibley and Jameson Sibley. He is also survived by his brother, William Cooper (Diane) Delk, III; his nephew, Brian (Jennifer) Delk and niece Christa (Chris) Hampton.
