

Richard A. White 72, of Nashville passed away on February 6th, 2017.He was born in Kirksville, MO and spent his early life in Bloomington, IL. Richard was an accomplished athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. In 1963 he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox. Ultimately, he joined the Air Force and was a member of their baseball team. Mr. White has made Nashville his home since the mid-sixties, when the Air Force stationed him in Symrna, TN. He met and married Madeline Steele in Nashville. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage. He will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Uncle, friend and coach. He is survived by his loving daughter Stella C. White; brother Jack D. White; sister Janet Fingerle; nephew and Godson Tim (Donna) White, Ted (Randi) Leslie, Seth Steele; nieces, Cindy (Bob) Brady, Lisa Leslie, Dawn (Eric) Haney, Diana (Mike) Reynolds, and Shelley Steele. Twin Great-nieces "the girls" Chapple White and Hannah White; brother in law Robert Steele and family friend Michael Underwood. Preceded in death by loving wife Madeline White; parents Robert and Wilma White; sister Connie White; father in law George Steele. Visitation Thursday February 9th at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home from Twelve Thirty until Two Thirty in the afternoon, Funeral will begin at Two Thirty in the afternoon in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Burial Following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. White’s name may be made to American Cancer Society and the Humane Society.
