Ricky Flemings, a generous soul, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on September 2, 1958, Ricky's life was a tapestry woven with rich experiences and deep connections. He was a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, where his presence was cherished by many.
Ricky spent his early years in Walled Lake, Michigan until the age of 10, before moving to Harrisburg, Illinois. In 1984, he relocated to the Cookeville, Tennessee area to work for the LEVIS Jeans Company. In 1998, he moved to Nashville to continue his career with Pool & Spa Depot. After a serious accident in 2003, Ricky displayed resilience and adaptability by returning to school to become a Medical Transcriptionist, a career from which he retired at the age of 62 in 2020.
In matters of the heart, Ricky found his lifelong partner in James E. Brake. The couple began their journey together in 1999, sharing 27 years of companionship and 14 years of marriage.
Ricky had a passion for mansions and architecture, a love that took him to explore the architectural wonders of Greece, the Acropolis, and Newport, Rhode Island. His appreciation for beauty and design was a testament to his generous spirit and inquisitive nature.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Roy Flemings, his mother, Flossie Stone Flemings, and his brothers, Frank and Lester Flemings. He is survived by his partner, James E. Brake; his sister, Connie Stacey; his nephews, Lester Bryant (Rachael) and Josh Stacey; and his nieces, Jamie Lester (Danny) and Emilee Menees (Bailey). Ricky also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends, whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness.
Ricky loved well and was well-loved in return. His absence leaves a void, but his legacy of generosity and love endures. Ricky Flemings will be greatly missed.
