
Robert L. Reddig, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend of many, died peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Vanderbilt Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his wife Betsy at his side. Bob was born March 18, 1943, in Harvey, North Dakota to the late Albert and Freda Reddig. After graduating from college, serving in the Peace Corp and earning his Masters in English Literature from the Miami of Ohio, a Masters of Divinity at the University of Chicago, Bob moved to Nashville where he has lived ever since. Upon moving to Nashville he earned his Masters of Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Bob worked for the Williamson County Counseling Center until 1996 when he left to enter private practice as a family therapist, retiring in 2014. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Betsy; a son, Commander Clay Jordan (C.J.) Reddig (Claire), USN, Arlington, TX; step-daughter, Jennifer Garmany Middleton (Justin) three grandchildren: Caitlin and Bennett Reddig, also of Arlington, TX and Matthew Garmany of Brentwood, TN; three brothers: Gary Reddig (Karen), Winter Garden, FL; The Rev. Michael Reddig, (Judith) San Francisco, CA; and Mark Reddig (Karol), Salem, SD; Honorary Brother, Dr. Clif Emerson, Destin, Florida. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at two o’ clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2007 Acklen Ave, Nashville, with visitation one hour prior. Another visitation will be conducted the evening prior also at the church from four o’ clock in the evening until six.
