

Rosson Wood, 88, of Nashville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 20, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1933 in Springfield, TN, to the late Lewis and Bessie Lee Adams Wood. For 37 years, Rosson owned his own plumbing business, Ross Wood and Sons Plumbing Company. He was a member of PHCC from 1980 until 2011 in which he served as Chapter President in 2010, Board Member from 2010 until 2014, and was named Contractor Member of the Year in 2014. He was also a member of the Greater Nashville Apartment Association from 1975 until 2011. He was a member of the American Legion Post #88 of Donelson. He worked for AT&T and retired in 1985. Rosson proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael Wood, Bethel Wood, Dennis Wood, and Herbert Wood; and son, Charles Rosson “Chuck” Wood.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Jacqueline E Morgan Wood; children, Marianne Wood Raynes (Gary), Mark A. Wood (Karen), Terri L. Wood, William C. Wood (Amy), Joni Wood Sain (Brad), David E. Wood (Kristina); siblings, Virgil Wood, Estelle Wood Ray, and Paul Wood (Shirley); grandchildren, Jamie Haygood, Breanna DeKuiper, Brielle Baker, Jason Raynes, Dylan Wood, Brandon Sain, Jeremy Raynes, Lauren Wood, Hudson Wood, Jennifer Raynes, William E. Wood, Hayden Wood, Brian Raynes, Brooke Sain, and Patrick Raynes; and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home located at 1101 Lebanon Pike in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 12:00PM at Pennington United Methodist church located at 2745 Pennington Bend Road in Nashville. Rosson will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens following the service.
