

Scott Gerald Payne, age 66 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Thursday March 31st 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones. Scott was born on March 28th 1956 in Waconia, Minnesota; the son of the late Gerald Oliver Payne and Rose Angeline (Erdman). He was a veteran of the U.S ARMY and dedicated his life to his family. Scott enjoyed a simple life that revolved around friends, family, and his beloved boat. He retired from Hemphill Brothers Coach Company in 2020 after 22 years of employment. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Scott was widely known at Elm Hill Maria aboard his boat “No Drama” where he gained an extended family known as the “Loco Dock Club”. They shared memories, laughs, and the water; where Scott enjoyed spending his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sandy Carter. Surviving Scott is his son Michael Payne (Macey Payne) of Minnesota, daughter Crystal Payne of Minnesota, and Jennifer Perry (Grant Perry) of Tennessee . Five grandchildren; Jocelynn and Maxwell Payne, Nathen Mayer and Zelda Payne, and Liam Perry. Siblings Russ Forde, Nikki Ray, and Trey Allgood of Georgia.
Military Honors with a celebration of life to begin at 1 pm on Wednesday April 6, 2022, with a gathering of friends at 12 noon at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN 37214.
