Sue Ellen Egnor Adkins, age 83 Brentwood, Tennessee, died peacefully beside her loving husband of 63 years, Rodney Gene Adkins on February 9, 2024. Sue was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and the Acts 2:42 Sunday School Class.
Sue was the daughter of Ruth and Dorsey Egnor and born in Temple, Michigan. Sue’s family moved to Logan, West Virginia in 1950’s where she graduated from Logan High School in 1958. She had a great love for music and was very active in the choral program, participating in West Virginia All-state chorus her senior year. Sue married Rodney Adkins on August 7, 1960, in Logan, WV, where Rodney and Sue raised their three sons until moving to Brentwood in 1985.
Sue shared her gift of music for over 25 years at Logan Church of the Nazarene in music ministry as a member and a director of various choirs and ensembles. Sue also directed the singing handbells at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene for many years.
Sue was a talented seamstress, ceramic painter, and watercolor artist. She shared her talent creating gifts for family and friends. She was known to get a notion to make a new dress on Friday and have it ready for church on Sunday.
Sue is predeceased by: her parents, Dorsey L. and V. Ruth Egnor, her son, Randall G. Adkins, and her grandson, Grayson R. Daily. Sue is survived by her husband Rodney, G. Adkins, her two sons: R. Scott (Wonnie) Adkins and Jon D. (Christine) Adkins, her grandchildren: Laney G. Adkins , Austin S. (Leila) Daily, and Chase M. (Stephanie) Daily, her siblings: Elizabeth L. (David) Trobaugh, Daniel L. (Linda) Egnor, and Richard E. (Brenda) Egnor, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Saving Life: www.operationsavinglife.org, or to a charity of one’s choice. Please have any flowers delivered to Brentwood United Methodist Church.
Visitation (12:00-2:00 pm) and the Service (2:00 pm) will be held at Brentwood United Methodist Church. 309 Franklin Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027. Burial to follow Service at Mount Olivet Cemetery 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210
