

Thelma Lois Dies - Passed away on Monday, the 13th of January, 2014. She celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday, the 22nd of December, 2013 in Palm Springs, CA. Thelma was born in Nashville, TN as were her parents, John Shirley Pamplin and Minnie Henrietta Pamplin. Thelma was the eldest of four Pamplin daughters, Emily Louise Lynch, Margaret Savanah Yates and Shirley Mae Bell, all of which who preceded her in death. Thelma's husband, Fred W. Dies, Sr. also preceded her in death.She and her husband moved to Mission Viejo, CA after they retired, twenty-seven years ago, to be near their daughter, Betty Ann and her husband, Joe V. Kennedy, Sr.; and two grandsons, Joe Kennedy, Jr. and Scott Michael Kennedy, who passed on the 15th of January, 2013.During Thelma's lifetime, she so enjoyed many trips with her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. There were trips to Europe, Mexico, the Orient, the South Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand, England and Ireland. She also went on a group tour with some co-workers to Spain and Portugal. Thelma loved her job of thirty-eight years with the State of TN in the Conservation Department Financial Office.Other surviving family members are two nieces, Loretta Lynch Alleman and family, Cherryl Lynch Lee and family; and nephews, Steve Bell and family, and Greg Yates and family, all in TN and nephew, Larry Bell and family in FL.Thelma had a long and happy life. She was an easy-going, loving, kind and genteel person. To know her was to love her, and she will be missed and remembered indeed by those who knew her.A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodlawn's Dignity Hall at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 25th of January, 2014 with Dr. Raymond Langlois officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday before the service, beginning at eleven-thirty up until service time at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
