Thomas Bennett Bechtold

Tom was born on a United States Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, and lived in Okinawa (Japan), Marietta (Georgia), and Fort Worth (Texas) before setting in Nashville. It was in Nashville where he met the love of his life. Tom loved to travel, loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was a master of the grill.

Tom is predeceased by his loving wife, Kathy Bechtold; father, Wilbur Christian Bechtold; mother, Beverly Bennett Hall; stepfather, Larry Hall; and brother, Charlie Bechtold. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Biele (David); grandchildren Gunner, Mia, Elsa, Wally, and Leena Jol; brother, Bill Bechtold (Pam); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jimmy Baltz, Mark Baltz, Mickey Baltz (Tina), Loretta Baltz, Denise Petty (Thaxton), Rita Denamur (Mike), Judy Baltz, Connie Baltz; and best friends, Wayne and Linda Gay.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends of Tom’s on Thursday, October 5, from 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home. Following the time of visitation, Tom will be laid to rest next to his wife at Calvary Cemetery, 1001 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210.
