

Violet Imogene “Jean” Jackson Winstead, age 88 of Nashville, TN passed away Monday, November 23, 2015. First born of Wm. Freeman and Pansy Earline Biggs Jackson, she is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Bill, Joe and Tony; 2 sisters, Patricia and Pansy Ruth; husband, Wm. P. Winstead, Jr. Survived by 3 children, Gloria, Marcy and Alan; 6 grandchildren, Todd, Heather, Jennifer, Kenneth, Jared and Jessica; 11 great grandchildren; father of her children, Gerald Minor. Jean was educated in Nashville, TN at Warner School and East High. She was a Charter Member of First Families of TN and 7th generation Tennessean, a member of Fort Nashborough TN Chapter D.A.R. and Past President of Col. Thomas Hart Benton Chapter, War of 1812. She loved her family dearly. She was saved at age 12 at Russell ST. Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Joseph Alan Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Cottontown at 1 p.m. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
